Conservancy
We are very fortunate to have the Conservancy, a private recreation area on the gulf side of Gulf of Mexico Drive.
The Conservancy is jointly owned by Whitney Beach Association and Whitney Beach III, who manage it through the Whitney Beach Conservancy, Inc.
All residents, renters and guests may access the beach through the Conservancy and enjoy use of its tennis courts, shuffleboards, horseshoes, play area, and picnic tables. There are chairs and lounge chairs for use on the beach. It is against Florida law to cut or remove the sea oats or other vegetation growing on the beach.

The Conservancy sustained a lot of damage from Hurricanes Helene and Milton in 2024 and we are in the process of restoring it. At present we do not have a barbecue grill. We can access the beach and play on the courts, though they haven’t been completely restored.
We have come a long way since the tennis courts were piled up with sand immediately after the hurricanes and we had to bushwack our way to the beach. But we still have a long way to go before our beautiful Conservancy is completely restored.
The Conservancy president is Larry Elder.
